L’exaltation de Trèves
Ab dem 10. Jh. lässt sich ein erstaunlicher Aufschwung hagiographischer Tätigkeit in der Moselmetropole feststellen. Die meisten dieser Schriften sind den Trierer Bischöfen der ersten vier christlichen Jahrhunderte gewidmet. Die Konzentration auf die Heiligen der frühen Glanzzeit der Stadt zwang die Hagiographen, im weitgehend quellenleeren Raum ein neues Bild ihrer Helden zu konstruieren. |
